Reviews and Investigations

Cultural Reviews

Catalyst for Change undertakes cultural reviews and audits, as requested by companies. The methodology and target areas are tailored to the company requirements and expectations. Some organisations prefer an interview approach, whilst others prefer surveys. In many organisations these surveys are repeated over time to monitor to progress.

Information and themes from audits can be used to inform strategic and annual plans, the identification of training and development requirements, ensuring the organisational structure is fit for purpose, and in some instances, form the basis of courageous conversations with individual employees.

Independent Reviews

Upon request, Catalyst for Change is engaged by Ministries and other organisations to review an area of practice. One such example is the review of seclusion practice within New Zealand schools. This culminated in working with a national working party to ensure best practice. Like all reviews, these are peer-reviewed.

Investigations

Catalyst for Change has significant experience in investigating complaints or areas of departmental dysfunction within organisations. Like above, these investigations are peer-reviewed, usually by an employment lawyer, to ensure legal compliance where complaints fall within employment law jurisdiction.

“I fully support the Catalyst for Change emphasis on a systems approach to change in schools. Having worked through a cultural change process in my own school, I can only endorse the need for shared values to drive this process. The need for everyone to understand their own way of working and the role they play in the system is essential to meaningful change and progress.”
