Terri is an experienced human resource consultant with successes in the facilitation of positive change. Her background and qualifications in mental health, and years of practical experience within the corporate and government sector, has shaped her pragmatic and professional approach to providing grounded solutions.

Mediation

Even in the best-run organisations, conflicts can arise between employees or between employees and managers. Timely intervention resolves these before they escalate into disruptive and often costly disputes. Catalyst for Change has long experience in this field. We look at the whole picture and not just the immediate dispute and we use a psychodynamic approach to bring about real conversations among individuals in a safe environment. Catalyst for Change differs from other agencies in that we specialise in working with groups and boards. We can assist with every aspect of the recruitment process, from the strategic analysis of the organisation's requirements through to the psychometric testing of the candidates. We can handle all or part of the process, utilising the skill sets of your board whilst working within your budget. We facilitate a sound, rigorous and transparent process, aimed at ensuring that all those involved are in agreement and take full ownership of the end result.

Psychometric Testing

Catalyst for Change facilitators are accredited to use a wide range of development/psychometric tools. We are recognised as the South Island representative for Belbin New Zealand. The Belbin tool, in particular, enables us to provide reliable assessment through 360 degree feedback. This ensures that intervention is targeted to the area of need, be it an individual team or company wide. Psychometrics are only used when they can offer true value, for example conflict resolution, coaching, career transition or cultural change.

Peer Group Mentoring

Peer Group Mentoring offers a significant method of helping organisations to help themselves by promoting knowledge transfer and productivity. While the traditional model involves a master mentor face to face with an apprentice protégé, nowadays mentoring roles and programmes vary and it is recognised that the benefits do not all flow in the one direction. Groups containing peers with different skills and abilities can effectively mentor each other under the direction of a learning leader.

Catalyst for Change can facilitate the setting up of mentoring groups, helping them to identify and document objectives, and develop strategies to maintain the momentum for growth and change. Continuing growth is necessary if a company is not to stagnate. Peer-group mentoring balances the preservation and transmission of what is best from the past with the on-going exploration of what may be best for the future.
